A journal of sorts documenting the musings, ramblings, and advice of a coquettish girl with an potentially unhealthy obsession with bags and cocktail rings, who calls herself la couturier. A Carrie Bradshaw (or so people say) living in the oh-so-glamorous suburbia of New Jersey. Here's a [coquettish] girl who loves a lot of things, but doesn't quite believe in love just yet and considers dancing to be the best form of exercise. Writing and dance are her passions, but she's had long-term affairs with blogging, heels, ELLE, New York City, Europe, philosophy, her beloved Macbook, & boys who dance. Hardly an expert at fashion; simply one who immerses herself (in small dosages per sitting) in it. It is here where she presents her take on fashion, and her perspective on s t y l e : these are her dreams, her aspirations, her self, hoping to inspire some way or another.

Je m'appelle la couturier. A blogger, a fashion enthusiast, a freelance writer, and an aspiring stylist with an appreciation for anthropology and philosophy. Almost always in heels for vertical lacking, and armed with the largest possible coffee in one hand, journal in the other. Comment ça va?

{spring/summer 2010 favorites} blumarine | burberry prosum | donna karan | elie saab | emilio pucci | fendi | gucci | lanvin | versace | victoria beckham

fendi | ethereal, neutrals, drapery, layering messy hair thrown into a blasé chignon, and an effortless neutral, smudged eye. fendi was not the only house to embrace the super-short, body-con proportions with draping fabrics and a chiffon train.

donna karan | beautiful drapery of romantic fabrics, all the while body-conscious. peach, mes chéries, is the color of spring/summer 2010.

burberry | pretty golds and silvers, shimmering in delicately draped fabrics. quite representative of spring's most popular silhouette: body-conscious, of course; sleeved on top, and short at the bottom.

gucci | quite the cool collection, both in style and color palette. another lovely silhouette of spring: small jackets (of exotic skins, of course!), thin layered tops, and a slim pant. and high, high platform heels.

versace | spring 2010 has brought back fashion's romantic, softer side. at the same time neon's have gained presence in many a designer's spring collection. versace, of course, makes neon sexy in yet another well-loved silhouette this season. on none other than abbey lee, of course!
