things i love thursday

things-i-love-7

heart5 Nail Polish. Not that I don’t love it already (you can say that I am quite obsessed with the stuff!). But lately, when I should have been doing more useful things, say, studying for exams, I had been browsing various blogs dedicated exclusively to nail lacquer. And in doing so, I have compiled a list of nail polish that I must get my hands on, a.s.a.p.

heart5 My planner. Simply because I am an organizational freak, and do love so to have everything written and planned out. Though I hardly ever follow through. It’s just nice to know that I have some control of my future.

heart5 Snow! The massive amount of snowfall on Tuesday made me ridiculously happy; looking outside through a window made it seem like we were observing one (rather) large snow globe. I don’t believe it’s snowed that much here for the past two years or so. As cliche as it is to say, it did indeed look like a winter wonderland, one right out of childhood storybooks.

heart5 Dujour. Updated articles, finally! Do check it out; read about a new label, Rebel DNCE, Shoshanna, & other such articles about fashion, shopping, & celebrity style here. Rate it, comment, do whatever you like; feedback is important! (Please be nice to me, darlings ;)! ).

heart5 Scarves. I think I had worn a scarf at least two or three times a week for the past two weeks. It’s been a growing obsession, since my original collection welcomed a rather large amount of new scarves (all from Christmas!). From wool, to cashmere, silk to satin, plain to embellished, I do believe they are my winter wardrobe staple. They truly are the most practical and fashionable accessory that can make any ensemble, regardless of what you wear (perhaps that was an exaggeration), sophisticated.

heart5 Watching movies on my iPod. I must be an insomniac, at least for the time being, since I have not yet been able to fall asleep until the ungodly hours of the early morning this past week (and yet I am able to manage waking up in the morning three hours later.) To pass that otherwise boring time of staring blankly at my ceiling fan, I watch various movies that I otherwise would not have time to watch.

heart5 Valentine’s Day is almost here! No, I have not found myself a valentine, but I do just love that holiday. Passing out sweet little valentines and candy hearts to friends is quite enjoyable.

xoxo,

La C.

    i love this post.
probably cause i can identify with a lot of it…hehe. i make lists like a maniac, stay up way too late, etc.
and man i am kind of missing snow. oh, not that we don’t have it around here…we do, but it’s been sitting around for too long getting all dirty and nasty and hard. i want some FRESH stuff!! i mean, as long as it’s gonna be cold and wintry, we might as well have snow right?
okay anyway, thanks for another great post.

  5. 5 February 2009 3:02 am

I wore a deep purple scarf today with my black and red dress. It made me feel good. And a little more feminine somehow! 🙂 Your advice really is quite remarkable, La C!

And every time you mention nail polish, I immediately look to the right of your page and scroll down to look for the chanel nuit de russie one. SO SO GORGEOUS. *claws at screen to get at it*

I can’t seem to find it! Or is it not out in stores yet? Or is it limited edition? I need to get my hands on it, and it on my nails!

    SEAH :p

  6. 5 February 2009 3:31 am

I love nailpolish too, I feel naked when I´m wearing any 😛
And it´s snowing here too, but I´m sort of sick of it… We´ve had snow for a couple of months now and I can´t wait for spring to come!
    Where do you live?

Luck may be shining my way, I think I´m gonna get my hands on the shoes I wanted 🙂

  13. 5 February 2009 11:40 am

Ah staying up late… been doing that the past days too!:D I just love it too much to stop. I love sleeping when coming home from school and then stay awake reading in bed from twelve to two or something<3

I can’t get over the snow either! I’m a bit of an organisation freak too, I don’t think I could live without my planner and colletion of to do lists!

I wear scarves almost every day, adore them ^^.
And of course I love nailpolish as well! But I’m so bad at planning and I hate planning (or at least that’s what I told myself as I can’t stick to them at all).

  21. 5 February 2009 3:33 pm

i love scarfs as well and i always feel like when i incorparate them into my outfit, everyone in the office says things questioning why *gasp* i am wearing and outdoor item in doors… the horror…love the blog

This reminds me to re-do my nail polish!

  30. 5 February 2009 7:15 pm

i love nail polish and scarves too! before bf days, me and single gal pals will have a valentine’s day party at someone’s place.

  31. 5 February 2009 7:23 pm

I’m weird, as much as I hate the cold, I actually like snow. I live in the deep south now, but I grew
up in Colorado, where even though it got really cold there was always snow! Hmmm, maybe I should buy faux snow….

  32. 5 February 2009 7:35 pm

I’d love to say I use my New Yorker planner all the time although I’ve not used it much yet, although I plan on using it a lot in this following week! 😀

  33. 5 February 2009 8:06 pm

  34. 5 February 2009 8:32 pm

a planner is definitely a must! we’ve having a rare snow event here in uk, have not seen so much snow for years, it’s so pretty!

  35. 5 February 2009 8:54 pm

Cool! I would love to watch movies on my iPod in bed, too. But I might never get to sleep!

  36. 5 February 2009 9:19 pm

The snow was amazing and I love my filofax too!

  37. 5 February 2009 10:10 pm

ahh, snow. I’m not going to lie, I have a love/hate relationship with it at this point. But all of the other items are lovely (your blog always reminds me that I am in desperate need of a manicure!!!)

And I’ll be your valentine girl!! :))

  38. 6 February 2009 12:04 am

    Wow ! It’s a nice post. I love lists 🙂
You must live on the East Coast as we had snow on Tuesday as well – love it !

  39. 6 February 2009 3:11 am

La C, I am so glad you do these posts every Thursday! I love learning more about all the things you love 🙂
I have become a bit of an insomniac I think (or too much birthday-ing has messed up my sleep cycle), and I’ve been watching countless TV shows and movies on my iPod as well! It’s pretty relaxing 🙂

    xo, darling ♥

  40. 6 February 2009 6:52 am

    You think so possitive:)

  41. 6 February 2009 7:54 am

Scarves are completely irreplaceable in my wardrobe! I could not live without them.

  45. 6 February 2009 1:38 pm

Oh I am so glad TILT is going to be a weekly thing – fab post. I adore scarves and watching movies on my iPhone in bed too 🙂

  46. 6 February 2009 1:58 pm

i just love chanel nailpolish bottles. so chic, so cute, so awesome, so chanel! just having a bottle of their nailpolish could have the potential to make me cooler. hahahaha, and i love the color in the front in that picture. so pretty. i want all the nailpolishes chanel ever made! as long as they are in those pretty rectangular prism bottles.

  47. 6 February 2009 2:22 pm

I love a list – and specially love a scarf. Thanks for stopping by French Essence, glad I found you. xv

  48. 6 February 2009 4:21 pm

I love scarves too!! and I like when you use french words^^

    xxx

  49. 6 February 2009 4:40 pm

OOOh. I am a nail polish fiend too. I have probably wasted tons of studying time to painting my nails. LOL.

  50. 6 February 2009 6:04 pm

I like these things i love thursdays. Perhaps I will start doing something akin… so clever!

As lovely as snow is, I am so tired of it by now. It is not pretty here, just wet and brown and annoying and cold! Hopefully global warming will pay off and it will be spring soon…

  51. 6 February 2009 7:02 pm

I think I love all those things too, well except for the snow cause here, in Spain, everytime it snows the country collapses so… And I know its just for selling more but I love Valentines Day too, although I dont have one 😦
    xoxo

  52. 6 February 2009 11:29 pm

I so adore your blog! and this post is awesome, pass… I nominate you to an award

  53. 7 February 2009 3:12 am

Oh how I wish I could also be wearing scarves right now. Not possible however in 32 degree Celsius heat (90F).
    Love it all xx

  54. 7 February 2009 10:10 am

I have been wanting a moleskin. But I don’t think I will write too much stuffs on it 😦

  55. 7 February 2009 10:12 am

P.S. I gave you an award today on my blog, darling!

  56. 7 February 2009 11:33 am

Nail polish, snow, my planner… I can definitely relate!

But suddenly, (Julie Andrews) ‘My Favorite Things’ is floating through my head! lol-xxx

  57. 7 February 2009 11:54 am

    I loooove your tilt! >:D
Yay to nail polish, scarves, ipod movies, and planners! I love my new planner because it’s so cute and I can finally use my cute stickers to add to my organizing. haha. I might have to post my planner up someday now.

    Can’t wait until Vday too!
    Enjoy your weekend!

    mxx

  59. 7 February 2009 6:05 pm

    I’m with you on nailpolish!!

    incredibly addicting.

  60. 8 February 2009 10:23 am

Are you kidding me? Nail polish is MUCH more important than exams, and don’t forget that for a second 😉 You’ll have to share some of the ‘must have’ polished on your list, as I’m afraid I’m hopelessly addicted to my Essie pale, neutral pink, and could use someone to get me to push my comfort zone a little!

And yes yes yes to movies on the iPod! Sometimes it’s the only thing that gets me through my cardio time at the gym, especially when i’m in between issues of ‘us magazine’!

When I tried to click on the Dujour link, it said suspended 😦

    • 10 July 2009 5:01 pm

Con Brio: I had no idea; I just tried it and it does indeed say that! I wonder why….
