chocolate-y cravings.

27 November 2008

Hello, darlings!

laduree-chocolates

I have been craving chocolate all this week. And without restraint either, never hesitating for yet another cup of hot chocolate with a dash of cinnamon sugar, or another bar of Dove Dark Chocolate. I’d hardly call it coincidental, though, when I say that lately everything I crave is brown. Whether my cravings are influenced by chocolate or not is up to you!

givenchy-nightingale-medium-barneys

Ah. The Givenchy Nightingale in shiny leather (here at Barney’s). Much talked, raved, lusted, [insert adjective here], and for good reason. Perhaps I’m a bit slow to add my own opinions on the bag, but it wasn’t until lately when I began to fall in love. Lately, for some unknown reason, I’ve been craving for a buttery-soft leather bag. A big one, at that. One where I could just stuff all my goodies and necessities, run out the door, & still manage to look like I at least tried to look good. After all, my philosophy is quite simple: a bag makes the outfit. This bag, in a dark brown, does exactly that. It’s simplicity, with just the right amount of detailing in the handles and shape, is done to perfection. It’s versatility is also a plus for me too. Whereas I usually prefer to carry a bag on my arm, its shoulder straps are a backup for when, if need be, I need my hands and arms free (hopefully to carry large shopping bags full of recent purchases!)

ysl-oversized-pearlized-muse

The Muse. In YSL’s newest re-make of the classic bag, this time, oversized in pearlized leather (available at Bergdorf Goodman). So it’s not exactly a shade of chocolate brown. But if you use your imagination, it’s the perfect shade of malted milk shake chocolate. (I think I’m seeing chocolate…) I love the size, the shape, the slightly golden taupe, the simplicity. It would also look oh-so-nice on one of my lazy days too. All eyes on the lovely bag, instead of my rather disheveled ensemble. I think it would make me feel much more put together as well.

miu-miu-bronze-ruched-leather-bag

I just love Miu Miu bags. First the Vitello Lux I’ve been pining after since forever, now this lovely ruched leather coiffer bag. I love the shape of it; round and soft, yet structured in its gold hardware. The detailing is beautiful; the metal clasps, buttons, adn the braided handle is just so perfectly incorporated onto the bag. And that ruching. Impeccable. I think I fell in love with it when I saw it at either Barneys or Bergdorf Goodman a while ago. It was love at first touch, I should like to specify. It’s creamy texture, unbelievably soft leather…to die for. And at that moment, I did wish I could just stuff my belongings into that bag and take it with me.

Mmm. Leather, chocolates, and bags, oh my.

xoxo,

La C.

They’re all such lovely choices! Coach’s Sabrina bag in taupe leather with gold hardware is a bit similar to the Gucci bag in terms of having that versatile shoulder strap. It’s a beautiful bag, but I really shouldn’t even think about it considering I splurged on a jumbo Chanel 2.55 last month.

I am a Nightingale fan – and always only considered the black one (there is an Ostrich one I think that totally freaks me out :/). But now, your chocolate craving has percolated down to my Nightingale needs, and now I can’t stop staring at the picture of that gorgeous bag!

I love how your posts are themed and the way you thread ideas together so seamlessly. Your blog has seriously emerged as one of my favourite reads, and not just some site to surf.

    Love,
    Hui

hui – your comment just made my day, no lie! you are seriously the sweetest girl ever. i know i always write a lot (and i know most of my readers/followers probably just skim through it). so thank you so much!!! ❤

I’ve been in the mood for a new bag as well. I was pretty slow on the YSL craze, now that the “IT” hype is over, I feel like I can respect them/enjoy them more. But I have much harder standards than just a pretty bag, it has to be camera safe too 😦 So my hunt continues.
